Client Spotlight: The School of MOM
When Sarah Harmon, Founder of The School of MOM, came to us for her PR needs, we could not have been more excited to work with her. Both of 143’s founders are moms of two little ones each so we both know how easy it is to lose your cool when everyone is yelling for you at the same time. “Mommy! Mom! Mamma! Ma!” The School of MOM is focused on helping mothers “become the present, compassionate and resilient human you want to raise”, so we were honored to work with Sarah.
Sarah initially contacted us to help manage the barrage of media requests she was getting for her primal mom scream (read more on that here). Both of us at 143 could relate to this need for mothers to scream together because at the time, we too were struggling to manage our toddlers’ ongoing daycare quarantine exposure requirements (one peaked at 21 days!) and nonstop testing in addition to being a working parent.
Sarah’s scream took off on an international level and it was truly cathartic to be part of the amazing burst of media attention. But then as the pandemic calmed down and kids could finally go to daycare and school for longer than a few days before an exposure, moms took a big sigh of relief. Sarah recognized that we mothers were in a new phase where it was time to rest and practice self-care. From this realization, we all thought it would be amazing for Sarah to do an event commemorating World Maternal Mental Health Day (May 4, 2022) and she did.
Again, the media took notice and Sarah was featured in a standalone piece in her hometown media outlet, The Boston Globe. It’s clear from our work with Sarah that we’re all living in a time where mental health is at the forefront of many people’s minds. After spending two long years in a pandemic, Sarah’s expert wisdom continues to garner interest of national media including everything from Psych Central to Parade to Scary Mommy.
If you're a mom reading this and any of the above resonates with you, definitely check out Sarah’s offerings here because she is an extremely talented therapist full of wisdom. In addition to being a voice for all us moms who were struggling with so much anger and anxiety during the darkest times of the pandemic, Sarah is an expert on mindful parenting.
