Company News: Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association Names 143 Communications as Public Relations Agency of Record

Award winning wine region just east of San Francisco taps 143 Communications to grow awareness for the region through a robust, strategic media relations program

Livermore, CA, September 8, 2022Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association, which is dedicated to the advancement, protection and promotion of the region’s quality wines, vineyards and experiences, has named 143 Communications its public relations agency of record. One of the oldest wine-growing regions in the United States, Livermore Valley Wine Country has 44 wineries and is just 35 miles east of San Francisco. 

 

143 Communications is executing a local, regional and national media relations strategy for Livermore Valley Wine Country in order to grow awareness around this unique destination that is one of California’s oldest wine regions and touts award winning wineries. Livermore Valley played a pivotal role in shaping California's wine industry dating back to when Spanish missionaries planted the first wine grapes in this region in the 1760s and then in the 1840s, when Robert Livermore planted the first commercial vines in the 1840s. 

 

“We felt that 143 Communications extensive experience in both food and beverage, as well as travel, would translate extremely well to achieve the media results, both regionally and nationally, that we want for our wine region,” said Brandi Lombardi, Interim Executive Director for the Livermore Valley Winegrowers Association. “We’re all extremely proud of the award-winning wine that comes from Livermore Valley and we want more people to know about it so they have the opportunity to enjoy the wine and the destination as much as we all do.”

Livermore Valley captured America's first international gold medal for wine in 1889 at the Paris Exposition, putting the state of California on the world wine map. In addition to the wineries themselves, Livermore Valley Wine Country puts on events throughout the year that provide another reason to visit the region. Some of the events include Wine Wednesdays, Wine and Wags, Harvest Wine Celebration and Holidays at Vineyards, among others.
